Marjorie was a portrait Artist.
She was self-taught based on her study of the old masters. She painted since about 1967, but became serious about expanding her ability to paint, especially portraits beginning about 1985, at about age 47. She continued to paint portraits as well as scenery until about age 80. The last portrait she started and never completely finished was of her grandson, Jeff and his wife, Samantha's wedding portrait. Her daughter now has the collection of family history portraits she has painted.

This birth certificate for Marjorie Ann Sunderman shows "Marne Ann Sunderman", which according to Marjorie was what she was originally named but it was subsequently changed.

Living with her mother and father. They lived in an apartment or duplex at 619 South 10th Street in Richmond CA. The family living in the other apartment was her Great Aunt ( Mary Voerster) who married Alvin Beckwith. Marjorie called her Mrs. Beckwith even though she was her aunt. Marjorie said that was what everyone else called her, so she did too. Marjorie was fond of both Mrs. Beckwith and her uncle, Alvin.
Marjorie was briefly married to Donald Ray Cassady of Nashville Arkansas. He was the best friend of her Uncle, Henry George Sunderman. She married him when she was very young. He entered the military and she stayed with his family in Nashville Arkansas while he was away. The marriage did not last long. Marjorie said that the reason she married him was to escape a bad situation she was living in at the home of her Uncle on her mother's side and Aunt in Little Rock Central ( High School). Donald R Cassady divorced her on January 6, 1958.
